Sept. 27 HWs

September 27, 2010

Lo, Potassium! I present to thee… all the homework and tests that are due on the morrow!

Physics 2 – We shall take our second long test on the morrow–which remindeth me, have thy first long test signed by thy parents if thou hast not done so yet.

Math 4 – There shall be a quiz on the morrow on the graphs and properties of transformed sine, and possibly cosine, functions. Cheers!

Chem 2 – Alack! Sir Paz finished not the lecture on the Kinetic-Molecular Theory because of thy reprehensible behavior. Hence, we all have to read on the Kinetic-Molecular Theory. So prithee straighten thy behavior, or else face direr consequences–and do not think I am not serious because of the way I wrote this.

Bio 2 – There shall be a quiz on the morrow on everything we have discussed about respiration. Also, the Mythbusters topic proposals and the homework consisting of the schematic diagrams of cell respiration and photosynthesis are due on the morrow.

Comp Sci 3 – There shall be a speed test on the morrow for both Web Dev and Java.

If thou hast any additions, corrections, or questions, comment or edit this entry.

MEMORANDUM :

SUBJECT : ADDITIONAL SECURITY MEASURES

To All Students and Parents,

In view of the forthcoming 2nd Quarter Periodic Exams, we are restricting the conduct of extracurricular activities in the school. Hence, students should immediately go home after their last class.

Furthermore, in light of the ongoing demolition of residents across PSHS, we are taking additional security measures. These measures shall be observed effective September 27, 2010 until amended/revoked.

We will provide shuttle service to our externs who commute and are neither brought nor fetched by their parents/guardians to school. This will be in the morning and in the afternoon starting Monday, September 27 until the duration of the demolition. There will be two (2) trips in the morning and two (2) in the afternoon. The morning shuttle will be at 6:30 am and 7:00 am. PSHS vans will be used, with Plate Numbers SDA 269 & SHY 545. SDA 269 will be stationed at Mercury Drugstore, EDSA (southbound; near Paramount) and SHY 545 will be stationed at Centris Parking Lot, EDSA cor Quezon Ave (northbound).

In the afternoon, all externs who are not fetched should ride in the PSHS bus. This shuttle service will take the following route: PSHS-Agham Road-Quezon Avenue-EDSA-North Avenue-Philcoa-PSHS. There will be two (2) trips: 3:30 and 4:30. Hence, all externs not fetched should go home at 4:30. Externs who are fetched can be picked up until 6:00 pm.

Students who have to leave the campus during school hours for valid reasons (e.g. STR, illness) must be accompanied by parents/guardians (or their authorized representatives). Dormers are no longer allowed to leave the campus between their last class and dorm curfew at 7:00 pm. Parents of dormers who bring out their children should bring them back on or before 7:00 pm.

Also for dormers, orders for food deliveries should be placed from 4:30 pm (or earlier) up to 6:00 pm. Food deliveries should be picked up only at these drop off points: for boys – entrance of the BRH Main; for girls – entrance of the GRH Main. Dormers are no longer allowed to go to the gate after 6:00 pm. Entry of food deliveries will now be allowed until 7:00 pm. Just wait for these at the authorized drop off points.

ALL DORMERS MUST BE INSIDE THE DORMS BY 7:00 PM.

The Security Personnel have been instructed to list down names of those who will not observe the above-mentioned measures.

For your guidance and strict compliance.

Bio 2 – 1. Quiz on Tues.
2. Mythbusters proposal is probably due on Tuesday.

2. LT2 on Mon.
3. Have your LT1 signed by your parents.

Math 4 – 1/2 crosswise) Graph, amplitude, period, HD, VD, domain, range, and y-int (maybe not x-ints anymore) of y=3 sin(2x+pi/3)+1.

Comp Sci 3 – Speed test on Tues. Also, if you’re in Java, this homework is due Fri., Oct. 1. (I’m not sure about this, though. Could anyone from Java confirm if we still need to do this?)

Fil 3 – 1. Again, oral report and storytelling continues on Mon. This time I’m next, and also Cholo(1/2), Ethel, Justin, and possibly Carl.
2. Original short story is due Wed., Sept. 29.

Soc Sci 3 – The main body of your topic (containing present issues related to your topic) is due either on Oct. 1 (Fri.) or Oct. 4 (Mon.) but since we don’t meet on Mondays, I presume it’s due on Oct. 1.

STR 1 – Final RRL draft is due Mon. (? There are rumors that it’s due on Fri., Sept. 24 [through e-mail?]. Could anyone please confirm?)

I think that’s all. Please comment if you have any additions or corrections.

Message from the CISD Chief

September 23, 2010

Message from Ma’am Andres, CISD Chief, in behalf of the PSHS Management Committe (ManCom):

PISAY! While most of the violence is at the other end of the block (edsa), the ManCom has decided to suspend the classes for another day. This morning (8am) there were truckloads of police and demolition teams along Agham. The residents resisted them thus the police and the mmda backed off and i guess, concentrated on the edsa side. The news is that demolition will push through tonight. As it is Agham road is littered with debris from the area and the edsa traffic has been re-routed to our street. Police and MMDA people can be seen at each corner. While on the other side of Agham there are speeches given by the rallyist every now and them. The Ombudsman also suspended work for the day. Dormers were advised to go home.

The QC-CBD is a very large area (edsa to agham). We expect continuous negotiations and demolitions until October. However, that does not mean that we will suspend classes up to October. We plan to resume classes on Monday, September 27. The school bus and vans will ferry students to and from Pisay. In the morning, the van/bus will pick up students, teachers and staff at the Eton Centris station and another in SM North Edsa. The first trip will be at 6:30. Another trip will be made at 7:00. In the afternoon the bus/van will ferry students from the school to Edsa/QAve, then to SM and then to Philcoa starting at 3:30.

So what of the periodic exams? The exams will be moved for a week. What of the field trip/s? Batch advisers, please inform us of your plans. Have you finalized arrangements, closed deals for the field trip? Please consult us before making any announcements.

If you have any questions, please call the office 924-0661 or text me at 0919-9670426 (inlude your name- i will not reply to unknowns) or send me a pm here. Please pass this on.

Classes Suspended Tomorrow… Again

September 23, 2010

Disregard anything in the previous post for now, since, according to Sir Paz and to the CISD, classes are further suspended. We effectively have a 4-day long weekend.

STR 1 – I think the RRL draft is due tomorrow. (Could someone please confirm this?)

Bio 2 – 1. Quiz tomorrow!
2. Mythbusters proposal is due tomorrow!
3. HW (Schematic Diagrams of Cell Respiration and Photosynthesis) is supposedly due on Mon. but we don’t meet on Mon., so it might be due tomorrow?

Comp Sci 3 – Speed test!
